A day in the country....

Jaynee's day was made perfect on Saturday (10/2/2010) when we went to Palmyra to buy Casey's show steer! She loves horses and thanks to the Banks Family she is begging to get her own!

20 Year Class Reunion

I can't believe it I have been out of school for 20 years does that mean I am getting old or just wiser? I was so happy to get to visit life time friends this weekend. Spending Friday at the parade and dinner with the "Erda" gang. We missed many of them but so happy to see Teresa Martinez, Elizabeth Spilker, Ryan Frazier, Christy Brown, and Brendon Brown. It was awesome reminiscing about our younger days and the many memories that came out of growing up in Erda! I loved my days there and have life long friends because of it! We hope to do it again! I also enjoyed breakfast with Audrey - good to go home and pick up where we left off!

Spanish Fork Stock Show 2010

We had a fun and exciting first stock show this season! The kids did great! Casey's pig placed 4th overall barrow and Jaynee's pig was 8th overall gilt! Pretty amazing for a show with 238 pigs in it! They both did amazing in showmanship - this is Jaynee's first year with the big dogs of 4-H and Casey even moved up to compete against 7th and 8th graders and ended up 4th overall in showmanship. Jaynee's lamb was cute - and was great practice for both of them. They will be showing at a different stock show at the end of the month. We love doing this as a family!

Update...

So I keep hearing that it is time for an update but I have just not done it! I haven't even sent my Happy New Years cards out yet but they will go eventually! Things have been crazy for the Giffing Gang! We moved back to Payson - it was a sad day to leave beautiful Benson Utah but I needed a job teaching so we returned to Payson. Teaching has been way crazy this year - teaching at 2 schools and running 2 FFA Chapters! Rob is looking for work constantly and praying something consistent will come through!

The kids are keeping busy! Casey won his school science fair and district and moved onto State where he was recognized for "Outstanding Environmental Research". He will be showing 5 pigs this year. He loves it and does such a great job!

Jaynee loves 3rd grade and is looking forward to her theatrical performance in May. She too will be showing pigs and lambs this year. She prefers showing lambs and is really good at it! Right now BLAZE the little black lamb is in our backyard and keeping her busy everyday!

Annual updates are not good but they work for now. I will do better and try and do it more often! We do have new family pics that are fun - I love these two of me and my kids! That was a fun day at the farm before my dad retired this past year! So there you have it for now - no more complaining my friends!

Catch up.....

I am way behind! It is just like scrapbooking, plus I have started the darn "facebook" thing and it is keeping me busy too! To much technology to keep up with! Life has been crazy - we have moved back to Payson and will be moving back into the "hood" and home that we love so much this next week (July 6th). We have been at my parents since the end of May but have spent very little time there! We miss Benson very much and the peace of the people and area but are extremely grateful for the time we had there and the many people we became lifetime friends with. Below you will find a lot of activity in our lives, enjoy and hopefully I won't get behind again!

Road Trip....

Toward the end of June we had craziness explode, my nephew came home from a camp with a confirmed case of the swine flu so we had to leave my parents house in order to protect the kids from getting it. Rob, Casey and Jaynee left and drove to Las Vegas to spend some time with Rob's parents and I stayed with a friend in order to get some work done. Then we received sad news that Rob's Aunt Judy had passed away from a very short(5 weeks) battle with lung cancer. So we along with Papaw Ray joined Rob's mother and family in Alamogordo New Mexico for the services. It was a nice celebration of her life and a blessing to be surrounded by family. Rob sang at the funeral services a very fitting tribute to his "country girl" Aunt Judy. "Sissy's Song" by Allan Jackson. On our return drive to Las Vegas MeeNaw and Papaw decided to take a spontaneous trip to the Grand Canyon! It was amazing we had never been there and loved it! It is amazing what God has created for us to enjoy! We rode the train and took a bus tour it was awesome! We are celebrating the 4th of July in Las Vegas now with Rob's parents and all his nephews - Zach, Jagger, Jackson and our kids love the pool at MeeNaw and Papaw's house!
